6 c. sugar
2 c. water
pinch cream of tartar
1 tsp. vanilla

Fruit:
1 c. figs, cut fine
1 c. candied pineapple
1 c. dates
1 c. candied cherries
1 c. nuts (optional)
1 c. coconut

Directions:
Directions:
In a saucepan, dissolve sugar in water. Add cream of tartar; cook for 15 minutes. Next, add fruit and cook to 250 degrees. Remove from heat. Add vanilla, beat until thick. Pour mixture onto a wet cloth. Shape into a loaf. (I put into a glass loaf pan, lined with a wet cloth).
