1 pkg. yeast
2 cups + 1 tsp sugar
5 1/2 cups water
1 cup shortening
1 1/2 tsp salt
14 cups flour

Directions:
Directions:
Mix yeast and 1 tsp sugar into 1/2 cup warm water. Set aside.

Mix water, sugar, shortening and salt - add flour 1 cup at a time mixing and kneading until smooth.

Let dough rise once and punch down.

Let rise again and shape into buns & bake the next morning.

Personal Notes:
Grama said to start the buns at about 5 o'clock in the evening. Shape into buns about 10:30 pm and let rise overnite.
