1½ pounds butter
4 cups sugar
12 beaten eggs
7 cup flour
2 heaping tsps baking powder
2 cups whiskey
4 pounds golden raisins
2 pounds whole pecans cut in two
8 tsps nutmeg

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 250º
Prepare enough loaf pans for 12 pounds of fruit cake by putting oiled paper in the bottom of the pans

Melt butter and add sugar and eggs.
Stir in the flour, baking powder and nutmeg.
Add whiskey, raisins and pecans.

Spoon into pans and bake for one hour
Increase temperature to 275º and continue baking for 1½ hours.

When cool, wrap in cheesecloth and put in a sealed container.
Every ten days put 1 tsp of wine or whiskey on each cake.
