"As I ate the oysters with their strong taste of the sea and their faint metallic taste that the cold white wine washed away, leaving only the sea taste and the succulent texture, and as I drank their cold liquid from each shell and washed it down with the crisp taste of the wine, I lost the empty feeling and began to be happy, and to make plans."--Ernest Hemingway

1 lb ground beef
1 can tomato sauce
2 Tbsp Ketchup
2 tsp Mustard
A few dashes of Worcestershire sauce
2 tsp Brown Sugar
¼ tsp Season Salt (to start)
¼ tsp Garlic Powder (to start)
Sprinkle of Pepper (to start)
8 Hamburger buns (or rolls, depending on what you like your sloppy joes on)

Directions:
Directions:
Cook ground beef over medium-high heat until cooked through. Drain. Add tomato sauce, ketchup,
mustard, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, season salt, garlic powder, and s & p. Let simmer until
sauce has reduced a little and cooked into the meat (just a few minutes). Slop onto some buns and
enjoy! I’ve also eaten it over baked potatoes when I was too lazy for chili.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
This recipe was tough to write down because I always just make it by eye and taste-testing, so feel free
to tweak it to your taste. All of the above measurements (besides the meat and tomato sauce) are
estimates. I even asked my mother to help me write out amounts. She laughed at me.
