"As viscous as motor oil swirled in a swamp, redolent of burnt bell peppers nested in by incontinent mice and a finish reminiscent of the dregs of a stale can of Coca-Cola that someone has been using as an ashtray. Not a bad drink, though."--Excerpt from "The Moose Turd Wine Tasting" by T. A. Nonymous

Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1 lb vegan chocolate (chips work best)
1-2 tbsp coconut oil
2 pounds dried fruit or 3 pounds fresh fruit
cocunt flakes or nuts for garnish

Directions:
Directions:
Gently warm the chocolate in a double boiler, or add a little coconut oil and heat in the microwave, stirring every 10-20 seconds.
Line a cookie sheet with parchament paper (or more than one tray depending on how many snacks you have)
Have the kids help you in dipping dried and fresh fruit in chocolate and laying it on the sheet. If using garnish, sprinkle them now.
These make for great snacks, treats and desserts.
Can be stored in the fridge tightly covered for 4 days.
Tips:
If you use a fresh fruit that browns quickly, consider dipping the entire piece in chocolate and freezing them (mmmm, frozen chocolate banana slices!)
Make lots of variations of fruit and snacks, you have the melted chocolate, why not get creative? dipped pears, dried apricot, dried apple slices, pecans, fresh strawberries, dried mango, even cookies, like oreos dipped in chocolate or popcorn drizzled in choclate. It's an all around easy and fun activity that looks amazing and requires virtually no effort and one dirty dish. Who wouldn't like that?
