2 Tablespoons butter (½ stick)
1 cup granulated sugar
1½ cups flour
1 cup boiling water
1 cup chopped pecan nuts
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon baking soda
pinch of salt
1 large package of sliced dates

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and sugar.

Add eggs.

Add dates. Put the soda over dates and add boiling water to them.

Add flour sifted with salt then add vanilla and nuts.

Grease well and flour tube pan.

Bake at 350º F for 1 hour.
