Brown Sugar Frosting


Ingredients:

3 Tbsp butter
3/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup honey
3 medium very ripe bananas (peeled and mashed)
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 cup plus 2 Tbsp of buttermilk
(To make Buttermilk: 1 cup milk + 4 1/2 tsp of white vinegar or fresh lemon juice. Add the vinegar to a measuring cup,
then add the milk to make 1 cup. Stir and let sit for 10-15 minutes)
2 eggs - slightly beaten
3 Tbsp vegetable oil
2 cups flour
1/2 tsp salt
3/4 tsp baking soda

1. Spray 9x13 in plan, heavily.
2. Pre-heat oven to 350

3. In a small saucepan melt 3T butter over medium heat, stirring throughout until butter begins to brown - but NOT burn.
The aroma will be strong. Remove from heat. Transfer the browned butter into a large bowl.
4. Add brown sugar, honey, mashed bananas, and vanilla. Mix well.
5. Stir in buttermilk, eggs and oil.
6. In another bowl - combine flour, salt and baking soda and whisk it.
7. Add dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until incorporated.
8. Pour mixture into the prepared 9x13in pan.
9. Bake for 35-45 minutes. Until an inserted toothpick comes out clean.

Remove from oven and cool completely. Frost with Brown Sugar Frosting.

 

Brown Sugar Frosting


Ingredients:

2 cups powdered sugar
1/3 cup light brown sugar
2 Tbsp softened butter
3-4 Tbsp milk
1/2 tsp vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
1. Cream together both sugars and the butter.
(it will not seem like enough butter, but it is fine)
2. Stir in milk and vanilla. (add just enough milk so that the frosting comes together and is spreadable).
3 Spread frosting on Cooled cake.

Allow frosting to set before slicing. Store in airtight container at room temperature.
