Ingredients:
1 lb. shelled English walnuts
½ cup sour cream
1½ cups sugar
1½ teas. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Grandma Mix's Method: Mix the sour cream and sugar. Put in an electric fry pan (or skillet on stove top) at 220º. Let ingredients melt stirring continuously. When melted add the vanilla and stir in the nuts. Make sure the nuts are covered with the sugar mixture stirring rapidly all the time. Spread on a cookie sheet and let cool. Store in an air-tight container and let stand until Christmas. They are tastier if the stand for even two or three months, but can be eaten as soon as they are cool!

New Easier Method: Mix sour cream and sugar together in a very large microwave safe bowl. Mixture has a tendency to boil over. Microwave on high for 5 minutes stirring halfway through. Mix in vanilla, add nuts and stir to coat. Pour onto waxed paper and separate with forks. Allow to dry.

Personal Notes:
These were one of Grandma Mixes favorite gifts to make and give at Christmas! The last time she had me make them for her, she sat right there and told me what to do step-by-step. I was only allowed to do one batch at a time and I had to wash everything between each batch!
