CAKE:
2 cups flour
1 cups sugar
3 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
1 tsp cinnamon
tsp cloves
tsp nutmeg
cup soft butter
cup milk
1 Tbsp molasses
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 eggs
cup milk

TOPPING:
cup melted butter
cup finely chopped pecans
2 Tbsp milk

CAKE:
Preheat oven to 350
Grease and flour 13 x 9 x 2 baking pan

Sift together flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and spices.
Add butter, cup milk, molasses and vanilla and beat for 2 minutes.
Add eggs and cup milk and beat 2 more minutes.

Pour into pan and bake for 35 - 40 minutes (?) - Kathryn did not specify time.

TOPPING:
Increase oven temperature to broil

Combine butter, pecans and milk.
Spread on warm cake
Put under broiler for a few minutes - watch to prevent burning.
