Ingredients:
36 dates, pitted
1 package of bacon, each strip cut into thirds
Maple syrup, slightly warmed for brushing
toothpicks, if desired

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Prepare a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper, or spray with cooking spray.

Wrap each pitted date with 1/3 slice of bacon, secure with a toothpick.

Bake for 15-25 minutes, or until the bacon is cooked and the cheese is lightly browned, turning the dates halfway through so that they crisp up evenly on all sides. Remove and serve warm or at room temperature.

Optional: You may also stuff each date with 1/2 tsp. soft cheese or an almond. For a bit of sweetness, brush with maple syrup prior to baking.
