1/2 c. white syrup
1/2 c. sugar
3/4 c. peanut butter
4 c. cornflakes
1/4 c. chocolate chips
1/2 c. mini marshmellows (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Bring sugar and white syrup to a boil and add peanut butter. Stir together until mixed. Pour over the cornflakes in a bowl and mix until well coated. Pat into an 8 x 12 pan; top with chocolate chips and marshmellows. Put in the oven to soften chips and marshmellows. Remove from oven and swirl. Cut into bars while warm.

My recipe card said I got the original recipe from Chris Greisen. Her note said it's better if the marshmellows are left off. I often leave the chocolate chips off, too, because they are less messy for little grandkids to eat! These are one of Matt Sheffield's favorite bars and he's always glad if I make them when they come. I also double the recipe when I make it and put it into a 9 x 13 pan. They don't last long!!!
