1 3/4 cup unbleached, all purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp, salt
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 light brown sugar (firmly packed)
1/2 cup Crisco
1/2 cup creamy peanut butter (Skippy or Jiffy)
1 large egg
2 Tbl. milk (any %)
1 tsp. pure vanilla extract
48 candy kisses

Preheat oven to 350º.
Combine all the ingredients. Mix at low speed in a Kitchen Aide or a hand held mixer until the dough combines.
Shape the dough into balls.
Roll the balls in sugar and place on an un-greased cookie sheet.
Bake for 10-12 minutes.
Put candy on top as soon as they come out of the oven.
Let stand for approximately 3 hours.
