Ingredients: 2 pounds lean ground beef 2 c chopped celery 2 t dried sweet basil 1 c sliced carrots 5¾ c tomato juice 1 T Worcestershire sauce 2 t dried crushed oregano 2 c green beans 1 c stewed tomatoes 2 t garlic powder Salt and pepper to taste 2 T dried onion flakes or 1 large fresh onion, finely chopped

Directions:Cover crumbled ground beef with water and boil until hamburger is cooked through. Drain off water. Add all the remaining ingredients and mix well. Cover the soup with a lid and bring to a boil. Stir thoroughly. Reduce heat and remove lid. Let simmer for 2 hours or longer on low heat. |

Notes: This was Marcy's favorite soup that Mom ever made. We used to kid her about how small she would cut the vegetables. Even though she did cut up the vegetables so small, Marcy managed to inhale one of them, lodging it into her windpipe. She passed out and Peggy immediately punched her in the chest to dislodge the veggie. When she came to, Marcy asked Peggy, "Did you hit me?". We all laughed.
