1 lb. broccoli
½ c. water
½ lb. butter
1 c. flour
1 qt. chicken stock or broth
½ tsp. salt
½ tsp. pepper
1 qt. half & half

Directions:
Directions:
Remove stems from broccoli & cut in ½ inch pieces. Steam broccoli in ½ c. water until tender (Do not drain). Set aside. In saucepan melt butter over medium heat. Add flour to make a roux. Cook 2 - 4 minutes on low, stirring so it does not burn. Add slowly chicken stock or broth, stirring with wisk & bring to a boil. Turn heat to low. Add broccoli, salt & pepper. Heat. DO NOT BOIL, add half & half heat but do not boil.
