1 cup Crisco
3 eggs
2 cups sugar
1/2 cup buttermilk
1 cup nuts, chopped
3 cups flour
1 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp salt
2 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 cup bananas, mashed, about 3 large

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening, sugar and eggs along with very ripe bananas and vanilla.Mix flour with soda and salt. Add to creamed mixture alternately with buttermilk.

Bake in greased and floured 9 inch tube pan at 325º (or 2 loaf pans at 350º).
Test for doneness after 1 hour. Additional baking time is needed.
Cool in pan 20 to 25 minutes.

Cake will keep in refrigerator if covered.
