Ingredients: Pie Crust (Pillsbury prepared pie crust rolled out thinner or use your own pie crust recipe) 6 cups peeled, cored, sliced tart apples (I use Granny Smith) 1 cup sugar 1/4 cup flour 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon 1 teaspoon vanilla Butter 2 tablespoons water

Directions:1. Peel, core and slice apples (5 to 6 large Granny Smith Apples) to make 6 cups 2. Place apple slices in big bowl 3. Mix together sugar, cinnamon and flour 4. Stir into cut apples covering all apples 5. Place apples into pie crust 6. Dot with butter slices (5 or 6 slices) 7. Sprinkle vanilla and water over top 8. Place pie crust on top, cut slits in top of crust and crimp pie crust edges together 9. Brush pie crust with melted butter and sprinkle sugar on top 10. Cover edge of crust with 2" aluminum foil. 11. Bake for 35 minutes at 400º. 12. Remove foil and continue baking for 10 to 20 minutes, or until crust is lightly browned and juice begins to bubble through slits in crust. 13. Cool pie for 30 minutes before serving. |
