Directions: |
Directions:Sauce: Heat olive oil in large sauce pot. Add garlic and cook for a couple minutes (don't let it burn). Add tomatoes, paste, and basil. Bring to a boil. Turn down heat to low. Add meatballs and pork ribs. Cover and cook for 30 minutes. Remove lid and continue cooking for 1 hour on simmer/low.
Meatballs: Mix all ingredients together (except raisins and ribs). Roll into balls. When there's enough meat for 4 meatballs, mix in the raisins and roll 4 meatballs. Pour Canola oil to coat bottom of frying pan. Heat and brown meatballs. After browning, remove meatballs and add to sauce. This makes about 15-18 meatballs.
Brown pork ribs in remaining oil and then add to the sauce. |

Notes: Mom and Dad came to visit me soon after I was married and I was so excited to make macaroni (on Sunday!) for them. However, when I made my sauce, I didn't make meatballs because I didn't know how. (Somehow I missed that lesson before I left home.) Dad called my sauce "wild sauce" because it didn't have the flavoring from the meatballs. Needless to say, before they left, Mom taught me how to make the meatballs!
