2 c sugar
¼ t baking soda
1 t butter
12 oz raw peanuts
1 c water
1 c corn syrup
¼ t salt

Directions:
Directions:
Combine sugar, syrup, and water. Cook slowly stirring until sugar dissolves. Cook to soft ball stage (238º). Add peanuts and salt. Cook to hard ball crack stage (290º), stirring constantly. Remove from heat. Add butter and baking soda. Stir slightly and pour into well greased cookie sheets. Cool partially by lifting around the edges with knife. When firm, turn entire slab, and when cold, break into pieces.

Mom and Dad were the candy and cookie bakers before Angela took over that mission. Their peanut brittle and coconut brittle (made the same way, except using freshly shaved coconut)were anticipated every Christmas.
