1 1/3 cups boiling water
1 cup oatmeal
1 stick oleo
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup white sugar
1 1/3 cups flour
1/2 teas. salt
1 teas. soda
1/2 teas. vanilla
1/2 teas. cinnamon
1 teas. nutmeg
2 eggs

Directions:
Directions:
Combine first 3 ingredients and let stand for 20 minutes. Combine remaining 9 ingredients and mix well. Add oatmeal mixture and blend completely. Bake in a long pan 9 1/2 x 13 1/2 in. for 35-40 minutes at 350 deg.

FROSTING FOR OATMEAL CAKE
1/2 stick oleo
1/4 cup cream or milk
1 cup coconut
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 teas. vanilla
1 cup nuts or walnuts
Mix thoroughly and cove cake. Place under broiler until bubbly and enjoy.

I love this cake. It's quick and easy and very good, even without the frosting. I get lots of
