Creamy Sweet Potato Soup Recipe

2 Tbsp margarine or butter
2 C. chicken broth
1 tsp salt
2 C. sliced carrots
tsp garlic powder
2 C. milk
1 C chopped onion
1 lb sweet potatoes/yams (peeled and cut in chunks)
tsp mace or similar seasonign
⅛ tsp pepper

Sautee onion in margarine or butter until tender.
Add broth, bring to boil.
Add potatoes, carrots, salt, pepper, mace, and garlic powder.
Return to boil. Reduce heat, cover and summer 20-25 minutes until potatoes are tender.
Puree soup in blender or feed processor ( a little at a time)
Return to sauce pan. Stir in milk.
Cook over medium heat, stirring often until heated through.
