1 cup raisins
2 cups water
water or coffee
1 cup sugar
1 cup shortening
1 egg
1 tsp. cinnamon,allspice
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
2 cups flour
1/2 cup nuts

Directions:
Directions:
Boil raisins in 2 cups water. Cook until 1 cup juice remains. If less juice is left add milk or coffee to make 1 cup. While juice is warm; add sugar, shortening, egg, spices, flour. Stir in raisins and nuts. Put in 9x13 pan and bake 20 minutes at 350º Frost with powdered sugar icing.
