Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:

THIS IS THE WORLD'S MOST FAMOUS COCKTAIL.
It was originally made with gin and some believe in order to be a "true" martini it must be gin. However, here are some variations.

ALTERNATES:

Vodka martini -- substitute the gin for a good quality of vodka (Gray Goose, Belvedere)

Bone Dry or Desert Martini -- No vermouth

Dirty Martini -- Add a small amount of olive brine from the jar of olives

Quality counts. The key to a great martini is to begin with great ingredients. There are only 2 ingredients in this cocktail and if one of them is inferior it will bring down the entire drink.
