Directions:
Mix all ingredients together then add the 3 cups chopped apples and 1 cup chopped pecans. Bake in a greased tube pan for1 hour at 350 deg. When cake is done, place pan and all in a brown paper bag to let cool before taking cake from pan. It steams the cake cool and makes a nice moist cake that will keep like a fruit cake. The longer it lasts the better it is.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
When the reunion was in Windthorst in the early 1980's Sister Martha had shocking red, red hair. Being polite, we didn't say anything, till Ray asked "What happened to your hair?". Sr. Martha simply said I always wanted to be a red head....It seems she had beauty salon privileges at the hospital where she worked in Canyon and really took advantage of it to realize a dream of hers!!!

This is my favorite fresh apple cake recipe. Ray's Grandma "Ma" Mooney was famous for baking this cake, She shared the recipe with me when Ray and I were married in 1981 and I've been using it ever since.
