Crust:
1/3 lb lard
1& 3/4 cups flour
1 tsp salt
5 tbsp. ice water

Filling:
Lots of 20 oz apples chopped into bite sized pieces
6 pats of butter
1 cup sugar
1 tbsp. flour
1 tsp nutmeg
2 tsp cinnamon

Topping:
1 egg white
white sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Cut the lard, flour and salt together until crumbly. Add the ice water one, table spoon at a time until the dough is just wet. Form together into a ball (try not to handle it too much, it should stay cold).
Cut ball in half and roll first half out for bottom crust, place in pie pan.

Fill to overflowing with apples. Mix sugar, flour, nutmeg, cinnamon together and sprinkle over apples. Place pats of butter on top of apples/spices.

Roll out top crust. Crimp edges together. Cut 5 slits in top of the pie. Brush with egg white and sprinkle with white sugar.

Bake @ 350º for 1 hour
