1 cup shortening
3 cups sugar
6 eggs
3 cups sifted cake flour
teaspoon salt
teaspoon soda
1 cup buttermilk
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 (5-oz.) can chocolate syrup

Directions:
Directions:
Cream sugar and shortening, add eggs one at a time. Sift dry ingredients together. Add to cream mixture with buttermilk, begin and end with milk. Add vanilla. Pour half into well greased bundt pan. Into other half, mix chocolate syrup and pour on top of other in pan. Blend with knife. Bake at 350 for 1 hour and 10 minutes.

FROSTING

2 cups sugar
3 tablespoons cocoa
teaspoon cream of tarter
teaspoon salt
cup milk
1 stick butter
1 teaspoon vanilla

Combine and stir until sugar dissolves. Bring to boil for 1 minutes. Remove from heat. Set in pan of cool water. Add vanilla, beat until smooth.
