2 packages yeast
3 tablespoons lukewarm water 5 cups plain flour
1 teaspoon soda
3 teaspoons baking powder
4 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup solid shortening
2 cups buttermilk

Directions:
Directions:
Grease a cookie sheet with shortening. Dissolve yeast in sugar and warm water. In a large bowl, sift flour with other dry ingredients. Cut in shortening, add buttermilk and yeast to mixture. Stir until all flour is damp. Knead on floured board 1· to 2 minutes. Roll out to ½-inch thickness, cut with cookie cutters. Bake at 400° for 12 to 15 minutes.

You may cut out and place on baking sheet and freeze. Then put into plastic bags and keep frozen. Take out desired amount when needed.
