2 packages yeast
3 tablespoons lukewarm water 5 cups plain flour
1 teaspoon soda
3 teaspoons baking powder
4 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup solid shortening
2 cups buttermilk

Directions:
Directions:
Grease a cookie sheet with shortening. Dissolve yeast in sugar and warm water. In a large bowl, sift flour with other dry ingredients. Cut in shortening, add buttermilk and yeast to mixture. Stir until all flour is damp. Knead on floured board 1 to 2 minutes. Roll out to -inch thickness, cut with cookie cutters. Bake at 400 for 12 to 15 minutes.

You may cut out and place on baking sheet and freeze. Then put into plastic bags and keep frozen. Take out desired amount when needed.
