2 cups self-rising flour
1 cup sugar
1 egg
¾ cup milk
½ cup butter
1 teaspoon vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Sift flour and sugar in a mixing bowl. Beat egg slightly. Add milk, butter and vanilla. Make a well in the flour mixture and pour in the egg mixture. Stir together quickly just enough to moisten flour. Batter will be lumpy. Pour into 9-inch square pan.

TOPPING

½ cup brown sugar
2 teaspoons cinnamon
¾ cup chopped nuts

Mix brown sugar, cinnamon and nuts. Sprinkle half of mixture on batter and swirl into batter with a spoon. Sprinkle remaining mixture on top.

Bake 375° for 25 to 30 minutes.
