2-layer yellow cake mix
1 beaten egg
1 cup light corn syrup
1 teaspoon vanilla
¼ cup margarine or butter, softened
3 eggs
½ cup packed brown sugar
1 cup chopped pecans

Directions:
Directions:
Set aside ⅔ cup cake mix. Combine remaining cake mix, margarine or butter and beaten egg. Stir by hand until mixture is crumbly. Press mixture evenly over bottom and 1-inch up sides of an ungreased 13x9x2-inch baking pan. Bake at 350° for 15 minutes.

Meanwhile, for filling: Combine the 3 eggs, corn syrup, brown sugar and vanilla in a large mixing bowl. Add the reserved cake mix. Stir mixture by hand until thoroughly combined. Spread filling evenly over the previously baked crust, and sprinkle with chopped pecans
.
Bake in a 350° oven for 30 to 35 minutes or until filling is set. Cool completely. Makes 32 bars.
