Place ¼ teaspoon salt, 1 cup milk, 6 oz. semisweet chocolate, 1 cup marshmallows into heavy saucepan. Stir over medium heat until chocolate and marshmallows melt and mixture thickens. Remove from heat and cool to room temperature. Line bottom and sides of pie pan with vanilla wafers.

Spoon half 1 quart of vanilla ice cream over wafers and cover with half chocolate mixture. Repeat with rest of ice cream and chocolate.

Place pecans on top and freeze until firm.
