14 oz light caramels (about 50 caramels)
1/3 c evaporated milk
1 pkg German chocolate cake mix
3/4 c butter
1/3 c evaporated milk
1 c chopped nuts (optional)
1 c (6 oz) chocolate chips

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 325º. Grease a 9 x 13 pan. In saucepan, combine caramels and 1/3 cup evaporated milk. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly until caramels are melted. Keep warm. In a large bowl, combine remaining ingredients except the chocolate chips. Stir, by hand, until dough holds together. Press 1/2 of dough into pan, reserving remaining dough for topping. Bake for 6 minutes. Remove from oven, sprinkle chocolate chips over baked crust; spread caramel mixture over chips and spread reserved cake topping over caramel mixture. Return to oven and bake an additional 15 to 25 minutes. Cool completely.
