Ingredients:
I never use special k-too spendy! Cereal (use between 6-7 c. depends how gooey you like the bars to be!)

5 c. cornflakes
2 c. rice crispy cereal
1 c. light Karo syrup (or mix light and dark),
1 c. sugar
1 c. peanut butter (crunchy or creamy)
1 tsp. vanilla.

Topping:
1 c. chocolate (milk or semi)
1 c. butterscotch chips

1 - 1½ c. any kind of M & M’s (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Put Cereal in a large bowl and set aside.

In large saucepan, bring to boil over medium heat: light Karo syrup, sugar and peanut butter.

Take off heat. Add 1 tsp. vanilla. Stir well.
Add 6-7 cups cereal. At this point, either press into 9x13 pan and add topping when cooled, or add 1 or 1½ cups any kind of M & M’s and press into pan.

Topping, if you don’t use M & M’s:

Melt chocolate (milk or semi), butterscotch chips in saucepan on low. Spread over top. (I sometimes need to make more to spread evenly, but not too much more! )
