Many of the best cocktails follow an easy formula: 2 oz. liquor, 1 oz citrus, 1/2 - 3/4 oz sweetener

Daiquiri: 2 oz Rum, 1 oz lime juice and 1/2 - 3/4 oz simple syrup (1 cup sugar + 1 cup water, boiled until dissolved.

Margarita: 2 oz tequila, 1 oz lime juice and 1/2-3/4 oz of triple sec

Whisky Sour: 2 oz Whisky, 1 oz lemon juice and 1/2-3/4 oz simple syrup

In a cocktail shaker add ice and blend. Serve in a cocktail glass or a salt or sugar rimmed glass.
