1 chicken, cut up or 4 chicken breast
1 med. onion, halved
1 tbsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
water to boil chicken in
2 cups self-rising flour
1/4 tsp. ground thyme
1/2 cup ice water

Directions:
Directions:
Combine chicken, onion, salt, pepper and water in a dutch oven. Bring to a boil, cover and simmer until chicken is tender.
Remove chicken. Add extra water to make 6 cups in dutch oven.
Return chicken and bring to a boil.
Combine flour, thyme and ice water to make a soft dough. Stir will. Turn dough out on a lightly floured surface, knead gently 30 seconds. Roll dough to 1/8 inch thickness. Cut into 1/2 by 4 inch stripes. Drop stripes into boiling broth. Cover and reduce heat. Simmer 30 to 40 minutes.
