3/4 cups butter
2 cups sugar ( cane)
2 eggs well beaten
1/2 cup molasses
2 tsp vinegar
3 3/4 cups flour
1 1/2 tsp baking soda
2-3 tsp ginger
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp cloves

Directions:
Directions:
Heat oven to 325º. Cream butter and sugar together. Stir in eggs, molasses and vinegar. Sift and add dry ingredients. Mix until well blended. Form dough into 3/4 to 1 inch balls. Bake on a greased cookie sheet about 12 minutes. The cookies develop the characteristic crinkled surface as they bake . Cool on a rack can be iced if desired.
