C shortening
1 C brown sugar
1 egg
C molasses
C. dark karo syrup
1 t. baking soda
1 t. salt
1 t. cinnamon
t. nutmeg
t. ginger
t. cloves
4 C flour

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening, brown sugar, and egg together. Add molasses Karo syrup and baking soda.
Sift flour, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and cloves and mix well with above mixture.

Combine and refrigerate several hours. Roll into long "pencil like" rolls. Cut into 'nut-like" pieces. Toss onto greased cookie sheet.

Separate so they do not touch.

Bake at 350 until brown.
