2 pie crusts
1 C sugar
⅓ C. flour
1 t. cinnamon
1 t. nutmeg
dash of salt
8 C thinly sliced tart apples
3 T butter

Directions:
Directions:
Heat oven to 425. Mix sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Stir in apples. Turn into pastry-lined pie plate. Dot with butter. Cover with top crust, seal and flute. Poke 3-4 holes in top to vent. Cover edges with foil to prevent over browning: uncovering last 15 mins of baking. Bake until crust is golden brown and juice begins to bubble through slits in crust. 40-50 mins.
