"As viscous as motor oil swirled in a swamp, redolent of burnt bell peppers nested in by incontinent mice and a finish reminiscent of the dregs of a stale can of Coca-Cola that someone has been using as an ashtray. Not a bad drink, though."--Excerpt from "The Moose Turd Wine Tasting" by T. A. Nonymous

Ingredients:
Ingredients:
2 slabs of ribs, side or baby-back ribs
3 bay leaves
Kosher salt

1 bottle purchased barbecue sauce (i.e. - Kraft Chicken & Rib sauce, Tony Roma, etc.)

Directions:
Directions:
Cut each slab of ribs in half.

In a large pot of salted water, add the bay leaves and the ribs.
Bring to a boil, reduce heat to a simmer and cook the meat for 1 hour.
Skim the foam off the surface of the water as the ribs cook.
Remove from the water and set aside.

Preheat barbecue to high.
Put the ribs on the barbecue bone side down and turn down heat to medium. You don't want them to burn...just to cook the sauce on the meat and have some charring. Brush the sauce generously on top the ribs. When browned, turn the ribs over, sauce side down and brush this side with sauce. Cook until sauce is slightly browned with some charring.
Do this another 4 times -- each side will get sauced 3 times in total.
Ribs will be saucy and sticky, just the way you like them.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:

This is my version of BBQ's ribs. I've always boiled the ribs first and the bay leaves and salt infuse the meat with a real nice flavour. The barbecue sauce is up to you. If you like hot & spicy ribs...go for it.
