1lb Stew beef
1 large onion , cut in chunks
2 large potatoes, cut in chunks
2 large carrots, cut in chunks
1 rib celery , cut in chunks
7 1/2 oz can tomato sauce
1/2 cup beef broth (canned or dissolved oxo cube)
Dash pepper
3/4 tsp salt

Directions:

Combine all ingredients in small roaster or large casserole dish. Cover with tight fitting lid or foil.
Bake at 300 F for 3 1/2 to 4 hours.

Auntie Edna’s comments were: “I like Safeway’s own brand of beef broth best but have used
Oxo cube with tasty results. Recipe can be increased and /or with different vegetables. The Stew cools while you are out and is very tasty”
I have made this stew several times. It’s very quick and easy. I have also cooked it in
the slow cooker with good results.
