1 pound sweet Italian sausage
1 clove of garlic, minced
1 tablespoon dried basil
1 1/2 teaspoon salt
1 pound can tomatoes, with juuice
12 ounces tomato paste
3 cups ricotta cheese
1/2 cup Parmesan cheese
2 tablespoons parsley flakes
2 beaten eggs
2 teaspoons salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
10 ounces cooked lasagna noodles
1 pound mozzarella cheese, grated
Preheat oven to 375º.
Brown meat slowly, spoon off excess fat. Add next 5 ingredients (garlic through tomato paste). Simmer, uncovered, for about 30 minutes, stirring frequently.
Cook lasagna noodles. Combine remaining ingredients, except mozzarella, in a large bowl.Layer noodles, meat sauce, cheese mixture, mozzarella cheese in a 9"x13" baking dish. You can put the mozzarella cheese on during hte last 15 minutes of baking time.
Bake for about 45 minutes. Let stand 10 minutes before cutting.
