1 can of cherries
1 cup sugar
¼ tsp salt
4 Tbsps cornstarch
¼ cup water
1 tsp. almond extract

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 450º
Line pie pan with crust
Cut strips of pastry for lattice

Mix cornstarch with sugar and salt.
Drain the cherries, reserving the juice.
Add to juice of cherries.
Heat ¼ cup of water in a double boiler and add the cherry juice mixture.
Mix until smooth and cook until thick, stirring constantly

Arrange cherries evenly in the pie pan.
Pour over the thickened cherry juice.

Use pastry strips to create lattice

Bake for 30 minutes.
