1 c. minced onions
2 Tbsp. butter
1 egg
½ c. milk
½ c. bread crumbs (fresh)
1¼ tsp. salt
1 Tbsp. sugar
½ tsp. allspice
½ tsp. nutmeg
1½ lbs. meatloaf mixture (ground beef, pork, veal)
3 Tbsp. flour
2 tsp. sugar
1¼ tsp. salt
dash of pepper
1 c. water
¾ c. half and half

Directions:
Directions:
Sauté onions in butter. In mixing bowl, combine egg, milk, and next 5 ingredients. Place in 2 lightly buttered 9x13" baking pans. Bake in 350º F. oven until lightly browned (25-30 minutes). Transfer meatballs to oven-proof serving dish or casserole dish. Scrape fat drippings from baking pans into a saucepan. Stir in flour, sugar, and salt and pepper. Slowly, add water and half and half. Stir over low heat until thickened. Pour gravy over meatballs. Before serving, reheat in 325º F. oven for 20-25 minutes.
If made ahead and refrigerated, allow an extra 15-20 minutes of extra baking time.
