2 - 3 cups fresh blackberries
3/4 cup water
cinnamon
1 cup sugar
1 cup self-rising flour (or 1 cup flour + 1 tsp baking powder)
1 egg
1/3 cup butter

Directions:
Directions:
Wash blackberries and spread on the bottom of a 9" x 9" greased baking dish. Add water, then sprinkle with cinnamon. Combine sugar and flour in a small bowl. Whisk egg, then cut it into the sugar and flour mixture with a pastry knife or fork until crumbly. Layer mixture over top of fruit. Melt butter and drizzle over flour mixture. Bake 45 minutes at 350ºF. To keep topping crisp, do not cover.

Note: This recipe can be made with a variety of fruit or berries. Substitute an equal amount of fruit of your choice for the blackberries.
