2 cups dark syrup
1 cup butter
1 cup Crisco
2 cups sugar
2 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. cardamom
tsp. ginger
tsp. allspice
tsp. cloves
tsp. pepper
4 eggs
8 cups of flour

Preheat oven to 370

Bring syrup to boil.
Add: butter, Crisco, sugar, and eggs to syrup
Mix spices in the flour
Mix until it looks like playdough

Roll into logs, cut into small pieces

Bake for 10 minutes.

Dump the baked cookies on a towel on the bed until cool.

Store in tight container.

This is a recipe that was handed down to our mom from her mom (Mae/granny). We bake these cookies each year for Christmas. They are delicious dunked in coffee.
