2 pkgs dry yeast
2 cups lukewarm water
1 large egg, well beaten
1 tsp salt
6 Tbsp sugar
3 Tbsp melted shortening
5-5 1/2 cups flour
Cinnamon

Caramel Mixture:
1/4 cup melted butter
2 1/4 cups brown sugar
3/4 cups whipping cream, melted and stirred

Directions:

Dissolve yeast in water; let stand 5 minutes. Meanwhile, mix 1 egg, salt, sugar, shortening and add to yeast. Mix in flour, cover bowl and let raise to double. Punch down and roll out on a floured surface into a 12 x 17" rectangle pan. Spread with butter, sprinkle with white sugar and cinnamon and roll in jelly-roll fashion and slice 1" thick.

Caramel Mixture: Pour caramel in two 9 x 13 pans and place slices 1/2 inch apart on top of caramel. Bake at 375 for 20 minutes. Let stand in pan 5 minutes. Turn pan over to remove rolls. This recipe can be put together ready to bake and stored in refrigerator overnight and baked in the morning.
