2 C flour
2 Tbsp brown sugar
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
3 Tbsp butter
2 eggs
1/3 C raisins (optional)
3/4 C buttermilk

Directions:
Directions:
Mix flour, brown sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Cut in butter. Whisk in a separate bowl 1 egg and buttermilk. Add to flour mixture, just till moistened. Knead and shape into round loaf, place on greased sheet. Cut and slice top of bread, and brush with other eggs. Bake at 375º for 30 minutes until golden brown.
