Irish Soda Bread Recipe

4 cups flour
2/3 cup butter
2 eggs
1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp baking soda
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1 cup raisins (soak in water to soften, drain)
1 Tbsp caraway seeds (optional)
1 1/4 cup sour milk (approx, you may need more.)

Directions:
Directions:
Mix all dry ingredients and butter until crumbly.
Add raisin, seeds, eggs and milk
Work into soft dough.
You may need to flour your hands to get the correct consistency to shape the bread
Shape into a round loaf and place on a cookie sheet.
Bake at 375º for 1 hour.
It should have a nice light brown crust.

To make sour milk, add 1 Tbsp lemon juice to 1 cup of milk and let stand a few minutes before adding to mixture.
Every St Patrick's Day I make this bread. Super delicious!
