1 cup butter
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 tsp vanilla
2 eggs
2 1/4 cups flour
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp soda
1/2 cup walnuts

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter, add sugars, vanilla and eggs one at a time. Beat until light. Add dry ingredients and nuts. Chill about 2 hours then roll and shape in waxed paper and chill overnight. Slice 1/4 inch thick, bake in 350 degree oven until light brown.

Mom and Dad loved going to Marc’s family farm to visit. Peaches were always on mom’s list to get. Mom wrote in her memories “Adams street was a street with lots of kids and we had apartments for the returning World War II vets. I then started baby sitting for their children at .15 cents a hour”.
