3 c. all purpose flour
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp baking powder
1/4 c. sugar
1 large egg
1 c. milk
1/4 c. butter, melted
2 tsp. grated orange peel
1/4 c. fresh orange juice
2 c. diced apples
1 tsp. vanilla
vegetable oil
powdered sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Combine the flour, salt, baking powder and sugar; make a well in the center of the mixture. Combine egg, milk and butter; stir well. Stir in orange peel, orange juice, apples and vanilla. Add to flour mixture; stir until dry ingredients are moistened.Pour oil to 2 inches in frying pan; heat to 350º. Drop mixture by medium scoop into hot oil, fry until golden brown.
