1 Cup Butter
1½ Cups Sugar
1 Egg
1 tsp. Vanilla
½ tsp. Baking Powder
½ tsp. Salt
2½ Cups All-purpose Flour
1 oz. Sweet Milk Chocolate
¼ Cup Chopped Nuts
¼ Cup Chopped Candied Cherries

Preheat oven to 400º

Sift the Flour, baking powder and set aside. Cream together Butter and butter; add egg and vanilla. Mix in the flour mixture and Divide the dough in half. In one half add the milk chocolate and nuts. Lightly grease a 9X5 loaf pan, and line with waxed paper. Press the Chocolate In the in the bottom of pan. Add the chopped candied cherries to the second half of the dough. Press Cherry dough on top of Chocolate dough. Chill overnight. Cut the dough into 3 sections lengthwise. Slice each section thin and place on cookie sheet. Bake at 400º for 10 minutes.
