2 c. raisins
1 c. water, boiling
1 c. shortening
2 c. sugar
3 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
4 c. flour, sifted
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. salt
1 ½ tsp. cinnamon
½ tsp. nutmeg
1 c. nuts, chopped
Directions:
Directions:
Combine raisins and water and bring to a boil for 5 minutes.
Cream together shortening and sugar
Add eggs, beat well.
Blend or sift together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and spices. Add to creamed mixture and combine thoroughly
Drop tsp. full into greased baking sheet and bake at 400º for 10-14 minutes
